Rubin Lublin, LLC Receives ALTA Best Practices Third Party Certification
Rubin Lublin, LLC, a law firm dedicated to exceeding the expectations of its mortgage banking, loan servicing and title insuring clientele, recently received its Certificate of Attestation for the ALTA (American Land Title Association) Best Practices Certification for residential real estate closings for the states of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee from the independent accounting firm of Frazier & Deeter. Prior to the attestation review, the firm conducted an extensive Self-Certification review of its closing departments’ compliance with the ALTA Best Practice requirements. After determining the firm was in compliance, Rubin Lublin voluntarily decided to take the next step in ALTA compliance by seeking third party certification. Peter Lublin, Senior Partner, said, “We want to demonstrate our commitment to protecting the lenders and our clients, including buyers and sellers who come through our offices, by seeking the highest level of certification and receiving an attestation from an independent accounting firm”.
To ensure that its practices were effectively scrutinized, Rubin Lublin selected a respected CPA firm with industry experience. Rubin Lublin received a “Pass” on its first submission to Frazier & Deeter for all seven ALTA Best Practice Pillars: Licensing, Escrow Accounting Procedures, Privacy and Information Security, Settlement Procedures, Title Policy Production & Delivery, Professional Liability Insurance Coverage and Consumer Complaints. Tracey Webb, Audit Principal with Frazier & Deeter, states that “Rubin Lublin was dedicated to meeting or exceeding the standards set forth by ALTA Best Practices and investing sufficient time and financial resources to ensure their compliance.”
With their thorough knowledge of the real estate closing industry, Frazier & Deeter’s examination was conducted in accordance with attestation standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The process included examining, on a test basis, evidence as to whether Rubin Lublin’s practices supported the responses indicated in the Assessment Recap column of the ALTA Assessment Procedures as well as any other procedures they considered necessary for certification.
